This book is about adverbs. The adverb is the part of speech that is generally defined as a word that has the job of giving more information about a verb, adjective or another adverb. Adverbs give the reader or listener the time, manner and/or frequency of the verb, adjective or adverb. For example in the sentence, “Nikki eats very slowly,” the adverb, slowly, tells us the manner in which Nikki eats; and the adverb very, describes the adverb slowly. This book is intended to be a fun initial exploration of adverbs to help children understand the ‘job’ or role of adverbs.
