Children like playing games. In this book Akira and her grandmother make up a game called the Same Game. It is an easy game to play. Akira says something and her grandmother must say the exact same sentence but replace one word. The word being replaced must not change the meaning of the sentence. So the replacement word has to have the same, or nearly the same, meaning as the word in Akira’s sentence. Different words that have the same meaning are called synonyms. Join us in playing the Same Game as we explore synonyms.
